Upper mustang last king Bista died in Kathmandu on Friday at the age of 86. Big ceremonies are taking place in Kathmandu the capital city to mark the death of the last king of the isolated Himalayan region of upper mustang. Jigme Dorje Palber Bista is the king of upper mustang who reigned the Buddhist kingdom for more than half-century. King Bista lost his royal title in 2008 when Nepal abolished its own centuries-old monarchy. He lived most of his life in lo-Manthan the capital city of lo. King Bista lived there acting as a local spiritual leader. If you have done upper mustang trek in Nepal then you might have seen him. he mostly was seen walking on the way around lo-Manthan city. some people go to meet him at the place he lived which used to be palace when he was king.

Before Daying in Kathmandu

After king experience the health problems he moved to Kathmandu. The king’s nephew Tsewang Bista told that the king admitted to the hospital earlier this week. His health problems started last year. He suffered from heart and kidneys problems. The cold season begins in Kathmandu valley recently then, it is said that the kings having more difficulty. According to former’s king’s nephew Tsewang Bista he fell difficult due to cold. After his death, his body is being held at a monastery at Bauddha in Kathmandu. It is allowed for people to pay respect to the kings at buddha. On a visit to the Bauddha monastery, people can see women and men pray for the last king of upper mustang. People on the upper mustang area have deep love and respect for the former’s late kings Jime Dorje Palber Bista.
